Pastor Jon Franson Pastor

I grew up in Hayward, a small town in Northwestern Wisconsin. My main interests in school were music, and I participated in Concert Band, Jazz Band, and Choir. After High School I attended Bethany Lutheran College in Mankato, MN. While there I pursued a BA in Music with an emphasis in composition. While at Bethany I met my wife, Bethany Joy. We were married in June of 2007, and welcomed our first child, Kalli, into the world in December of 2009. Our second child, Leo, was born right before we left for the seminary in May of 2011. That fall I began courses at Concordia Theological Seminary, Fort Wayne IN. While there I was formed by many teachers, but had a particular aptitude for the Biblical Languages. Right before we left for Vicarage, our daughter Chloe was born in February of 2013. I served my Vicarage in Clark, NJ. After the return from Vicarage I continued my studies and our family continued to be blessed with growth with Gideon in August of 2014 and Solomon in 2015. In June of 2016 I began to serve St. John’s Lutheran Church, Burwell, NE as their pastor. God continued to fill our quiver with Thalia (April 2017), Michaiah (August 2018), and Avriel (July 2020) during my time in Nebraska. In January of 2020 I officially began serving Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Bartlett, NE as part of a dual parish.

In March I accepted the call from St. Paul, and began my service in June of 2022. I’m getting older, but still a nerd at heart, and enjoy old music, old movies, old books, and old games.

Written copies of my sermons can be found at https://lutheranjon.wordpress.com (I’m writing out fewer and fewer sermons as I’m growing in my preaching) and audio copies can be found at https://open.spotify.com/show/1oQ4TGxerXTzIcg15IayJf
